II Corinthians 4:8-9 “We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.”
I found this verse when I was going down one of the loneliest, lowest and most heartbreaking times of my life. It has sustained me through the darkest periods of my life and I love the hope that is found in this verse.
No matter how bad things get, how broken, abandoned and destroyed we may feel at times in our lives, God is there to carry us, pick us up and place us where we need to be.
From this verse came the name for the book I wrote and the shelter that was started, Crushed But Not Broken. We all feel that way at times in our lives, like we just can’t take that one more step and then God will remind us, in only the way that He can, that He is there. That is the hope that I pray women and children will find when they come to the shelter or are a part of the program.
